GD Post!

Hello y’all! 🙂

Hope your weekend was a good one gone by! And hope you have a rocking weekend ahead! 😀

I am here with a post for ICR blog, where my card was chosen as Top 3 and I was asked to do a GD post for the current challenge! Yeehaw! 🙂 So excited about being chosen and I landed up making TWO cards! 🙂

The challenge for ICRC22 was monochromatic with same letter pad – that is if you choose red, then you choose accents like ribbon, raffia, roses, etc. Similarly for blue, you would pick bling, buttons, brads, etc. Interesting eh? 🙂

I chose green and blue for my cards. Had loads of fun making them! And stayed true to my style – CAS!

Have a look!

I used shades of blue for this card and my accent was bling! More to mimic the stars in the sky. The beautiful sentiment is from PTI Super Stars and matching dies.

The second card I made is all green! 🙂

Used shades of green and the ornament die from Marianne dies. Just beautiful! 🙂 Glittered up one of the ornaments and layered over green cardstock. Used glossy accents to highlight the string as if hanging from the tree 🙂 Leaves and sentiment from PTI Bells and Boughs.

So there you have it! My second GD post in as many years! He he 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead!

Quilled Family Album

Hello!

Just noticed that it has been two weeks since I posted here last! But I did have term tests and exams to deal with during this time and so took a break. I did do some crafting and baking but did not have the time to take pictures and post it. My bakes first of all just disappeared before I could get my camera and my crafting was at an easy and gentle pace 🙂 I have since made four cakes on order for friends and their kids (all chocolate – but of course!) but did not take any pictures before I gave them 😦 Silly me but then there is always a next time! 🙂

Today, I wanted to share with you an album made on order, with family portrait pictures. Since Paperz! had already made a few albums for this client, we decided to do it a bit different and have quilling as the main way of embellishing it. Have a look! 🙂

This was the cover page and I added a whole bunch of quilled flowers and some dies from Memory Box and Marianne with some leaf punches. Priya Venkat kindly added the letters for me 🙂 Used papers from K & Company, a whole range of lines that my cousin very sweetly got for me – a pack of 3o0 sheets! 🙂 I know I know….Bless her!

Since all pages has pictures, not showing you most of them. Just a highlight view 🙂 Used a range of sentiment stamps too for this one – Ali Edwards, Unity, Darcie’s, stickers….you get the drift! 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed making this album as it is very different to what Paperz! usually has made! Thank you Priya Venkat for your help! 🙂 And thanks to all of you who peek in and leave comments!

Have a great weekend!

Baby Album

Heya! Howdy do? 🙂

A craft post after quite a while I think 🙂 Been baking up a storm lately with friends asking for breads and cakes for their kids. So been busy churning out stuff lately 🙂

Anyway. This baby album was on order, to be given as a gift for an expectant mother, who did not know the gender of the baby. So used a lot of neutral colors….tried not to use too much pink or blue 🙂 The specifics also included that it be a monthly album….and hence the numbers 🙂 Have a look!

Kept the cover page fairly simple and sent along some diecut alphabets to add for the name 🙂

Some other pages (not showing all the pages here….of course you understand! 🙂 )

Used a lot of stickers, diecuts, sentiments from Fiskars, Ali Edwards, Inkadinkado, and some other ones I seem to forget at this time! But had a blast making it and the recipient was eually happy with it! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and have a good one! 🙂

Playing with Kraft

Hello there! Hope your weekend and the start of the week was good! Mine was busy with my second son’s birthday and baking (yes he finally agreed to me baking the cake!) and the boys had such fun that it was all worth it! 🙂 Whew.

Got a bit crafty today and linking to two challenges – A Blog Named Hero #10 – Krafty Crafter and the Moxie Fab World – Focal Point Challenge

I made a card which a bit more elaborate than my usual style this time 🙂 I just loved the kraft and the simple elements! Have a look!

I realized when doing this challenge that I have only backgrounds and sentiments from Hero Arts…nothing else! 🙂 So had to work with what I have. Have highlighted the gorgeous background and clear embossed it and filled in bits of color! 🙂 Saw this on Ellen Hutson’s blog and thought it would work best for my project! Awesome tutorials and videos there! 🙂

Another look at the embossing….my new fav technique! 🙂

Added a metal embellishment I bought a while back with a bling for the center and ribbon from stash. Sentiment from Hero Arts Live Life set. Pretty chuffed with how this turned out! 🙂 Used ribbon AND an embellie! Yay!

Thanks for peeking in and have a good week ahead! 🙂

You are all these and much more!

Yello!

Another quick crafty post today! Have kept the butter out to soften and my kids are groaning that I have not baked anything lately. So before the power goes off, I need to get myself organized! 🙂

A card today for three more challenges – Color Q #150 (woohoo!), Freshly Made Sketches #48 and ICR #20 – Embossing + fun with Fonts

Love the color combo at Color Q and the sketch is something that stumped me for a while. I made a card and took the advice I read online about taking the pic outdoors. Well, I did and it blew right into water, which I didn’t see 😦 But then it made me realize the small mistakes I made and I believe I made an improved version the second time around 🙂

*click on the picture for a better view*

I decided to keep it simple and highlight the colors with a white background. I am beginning to like a white on white bg 🙂 A panel which has been embossed with a CB folder, pattern paper strips from stash, sentiment from PTI Movers and Shakers. Swiped the edges of the base panel with green ink. Am thinking will make a decent masculine card. What say? 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend ahead! 🙂

Miss you!

Hey y’all! 🙂

A very quick post to link a card for three challenges – PDCC #145 and Retro Sketches #24 and For the Love of Crafting #9 – CAS

A lovely color palette and I did not have the “grey” color shade. I used a lighter shade I had with me. Hope to find it and make another card soon 🙂 A great sketch and a bit of a rush entry this for Retro Sketches! Ho hum 🙂

Used my Memory Box Fuschia die for this and cardstock I had in my stash. Very simple and CAS – so what’s new? 🙂

A picture of my littlest one with his quilling project. Taught my 10-year old visiting niece and she made a lovely peacock (I forgot to take a pic of it :() and she left back for the US last night. So my son kinda copied what she did and this is what he came up with.

Cute eh?!? 🙂 Thanks for peeking in and have a good one!

Color Q

Yello!

A quick post to link up to Color Q #148 – a lovely color palette to play with! 🙂 I managed to make a couple of cards so quite chuffed with myself! Have a look! 🙂

Used a green ink pad and swiped it directly on the card base and layered the hearts over it. Hope the pink shows up….click on the pic to  have a better look! I also added a full heart at the bottom and added glossy accents to it.

One advice for all of you. Before you buy dies, make sure you are convinced about it. This Memory Box die looks great but is a bit fiddly. So think well before you buy! 🙂

Used my PTI Lighten Up dies and stamp set for this one. Kept things very simple and CAS 🙂 Great way to use scraps but my appreciation of all of you who attempt paper piecing has greatly increased! Salut! 🙂 The swirl border is from a Fiskars stamp set – Henna Petals. Very happy with that buy!

So there it is! Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂 Have a good weekend!

Blues and Green

Hey there!

Back here after a break! So what’s new eh? 🙂 Well, quite a bit is new at my end. Learnt a new technique in this time – heat embossing! 🙂 Ya ya…me a slow coach! Been fascinated with this technique for a while now and even bought my embossing powders six months back! 🙂 And my dear friend, Priya Venkat, was nice to lend me her heat gun, also six months back! Ok ok….getting to the point…I finally gave it a try and made my first card with it! Yay! 🙂

Playing crafty after quite a while and feels good to link to two challenges today – CAS-ual Fridays – CFC63 and playing iSpy Sketches ISSC26 for the first time – am a sucker for sketch challenges and a huge fan of Therese Calvird who is their GD this week!

I loved the simple sketch and that gave many options for the panel. I am sure I will use this again! 🙂 I kept the main focus on the panel and so used my embossed panel for it. Wanna see? 🙂

Used white embossing powder for the very trendy hexagon stamp from Paper Smooches, fussy cut and distressed, with a navy mat and twine. Sentiment from PTI Flower Fusion 9. A simple card but very happy to be back in the crafty zone! 🙂

Thanks for peeking in! Hope to drool over more projects from now on! Have a baking post coming up too! 🙂

Box for Album

Hello there! Hope you have had a good start to your week! 🙂

Today, I am sharing the picture of the box Priya Venkat and I made for an album, made to specifics. The client was very picky about every single aspect of the album and spent a lot of time with us picking out the elements to go with it. Since the album turned out to be quite bulky, and given the fact that it had to travel overseas, a box was the best way to keep it safe and secure.

I am sorry I do not have a before and after set of pics for this 😦 Atleast I remembered to take a picture! 🙂

This was recycled from a computer cord box. I used plain paper for the bottom part and used pastel inks to stamp images on it (PTI Stitches and Swirls…if you look closely!) Also used coordinating colored pattern papers for the outside and inside. The lettering is with the alphabte die from PTI.

A huge thanks to Priya Venkat for the execution of this order! I bravely took on the album but had to go out of town in the middle. In she comes and takes over with elan! 🙂 You can see the gorgeous album she made here – check it out!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week ahead! 🙂

Flourishes

Yello! Howdy do?!!?!?! 🙂

On a craft roll here….more cards to share! 🙂 Am enjoying the daily challenges I play with my craft supplies…:) My baking has been going on as usual….have not posted the recipes here….hope to amend that very soon! 🙂

Linking to Less is More today….challenge Week 71 is to use flourishes on a one-layer card. Had fun and am happy I got to link up today!

Used Inkadinkado Christmas stamps for this card and some subtle colors…starting early on my holiday cards 🙂

This has PTI Fancy Flourishes with the sentiment from Signature Greetings. Fairly straight forward 🙂

Decided it was time for some color and so came out the PTI Embellishment stamp….not used very much I must admit 🙂 Sentiment again from Signature Greetings…what a lovely sentiment stamp set that is! 🙂

Yes….I changed my look of my blog again! Just felt like a change 🙂 Thanks for peeking in today!
